Tournament Info
I 1. The Egwani Farms Junior Invitational is an open invitational for girls 12-18 and boys in two divisions 12-14 and 15-18.
2. The event will be a 36 hole stroke play event with 18 holes to be played on each of October 26 and October 27.
3. The girls will be playing from just over 5833 yards with a course rating of 71.2 from the white tees
The 12-14 boys will be playing from 6150 yards with a course rating of 70.6 from the blue tees.
The 15-18 boys will be playing from 6708 yards with a course rating of 72.6 from the gold tees. Tees will be moved to the blue on 6, 7 and 16.
4. We do allow cadddies. Caddies must be at least 14 years old and be well aware of golf rules and etiquette. Please review the caddy policy page.
5. If you are traveling from out of town, there are several hotels within three miles of the golf course.
6. The tournament will follow all rules according the USGA rules of golf 2024-25. Any local rules will be added to the hard card and will given to the players prior to the first round. With so many changes please be familiar with the NEW rules.
7. A "Notice to Competitors" will be given prior to the first round and should be reviewed by players and caddy.
8. Registered competitors will be added to the website and a list will be posted no later than Sept 28.
9. A tentative schedule of the events will be posted on Oct. 5 and many other announcements will be forth coming.
Caddies
Caddies should-
-Carry and care for the equipment
-Rake bunkers
-Help get yardage
-Tend the pin
-Help read greens (quickly)
-Encourage the player
-Replace fairway divots or fill with sand
-Encourage and promote pace of play
-Stay out of the way
-Meet the needs of your player in a timely fashion
-Advise player of known rules (count clubs)
2. Caddies should not-
-Advise any player or caddy other than their own
-Fuss with their player
-Violate the etiquette of the game by talking, walking or interfering inappropriately.
-Should never smoke or use tobacco products.
-Curse or bring undue attention to themselves
-Over do it.
3. Caddies cannot-
-Make rulings
-Keep score
-Move flags on the ground after a ball is moving (you can remove a tended flag)
-Stand in direct line or indicate a line while the player is making a stroke
-Help drop balls or replace balls after marking before completion of a hole
-Cause distraction to other players
-Cannot use a pull cart or golf cart. (Players can only use a pull cart if they carry their own bag.)
These are just a few reminders. There are others but have fun and enjoy the caddy/ player experience. If you have questions ask the tournament director or a rules official.
Caddies are allowed to to change during the rounds. One caddy can abandon and another caddy can take over. They can switch back but only one caddy at a time.

Notice to competitors
1. If you need a ruling or have a question call 865-323-9181.
2. 15-18 Boys will play from the gold tees (we will move gold tee to the blue teeing ground on 6 and 11) 12-14 boys will play from the blue tees. All girls will play from the white tees (Girls should expect to play from the back of the tee box to pick up our yardage for course rating.
3. Any group that is more than a hole behind the forward group may be asked to take measures to speed up play.
WHEN YOU REACH THE GREEN ON HOLE 2, PLEASE MARK YOUR BALLS, MOVE TO THE CART PATH, AND ALLOW THE GROUP BEHIND TO HIT AN APPROACH IF THEY ARE READY. (SEE PACE OF PLAY HINTS HERE)
4. Disruptive or unsportsmanlike behavior is subject to penalty and disqualification.
5. Caddies should enhance the pace of play, etiquette, and overall mood. Please be constructive and not disruptive. Don’t overdo it. Please review the caddie policy. HERE
6. Each player has a responsibility to the entire field to score a competitors scorecard in a timely and accurate manner. Please score the cards at the next tee after each hole. Players should report to the scorer’s table immediately upon completion of play.
7. There are many lateral penalty areas on Egwani. These are marked by a red line or stake. Please review proper options (4) regarding red penalty areas. IN 2024 WE ARE GOING TO CHOOSE THE OPTION TO MAKE ALL TALL GRASSES LATERAL PENALTY AREAS AS ALLOWED IN TH NEW RULES OF GOLF 2024-25. ALL UNMOWED TALL GRASSES WILL BE PLAYED AS LATERAL RED HAZARDS. CALL THE NUMBER ABOVE IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION.
8. Out of bounds stakes have been removed from number 2 and replaced with red stakes. Really the only out of bounds would be over the fence beside the 2nd green.
9. There will be a drop circle at the bottom of the hill on hole Number 11. Any shot over the hill that finds any red hazard please use the drop circle to increase play. This would not include tee shots over the hill as would not be truly possible to identify a margin of crossing other than that at the top of the hill.
10. The rules of golf as defined in the “USGA Rules of Golf 2024-25” will be the rules in play for this tournament. Ruling officials will be Rob Daugherty (USGA certified) Tina Saunders (USGA master on call rules official). This committee, excepting a conflict of interest, will make rulings.
11. Please silence your cell phones (We do want you to call for rulings).
12. Range balls will be provided. Please limit yourself to one basket before each round.
13. Spectator Carts are for rent for $20. We encourage all spectators to keep carts on the cart path at all times. Caddies cannot ride in a cart. Egwani's carts are computer controlled and if you try to drive through many open areas your cart will SHUT OFF.
14. Range finders are permitted in this tournament. The player and/or caddy can use them at any time. These devices are not to indicate the slope or wind speed.
15. Rides on a cart are permitted from the ninth green to the tenth tee and from 18th green to 1st tee. Rides can be given by any cart for a lost ball or a ball out of bounds. The ride should be from the area of the lost ball back to the previous spot and back only. No other rides are permitted.
